You know iTunes, right? The essential tool if you are an iPod user, and really handy to manage your personal music library. And you know Beatport, too? If you're into electronic music or if you are a DJ, you do. Beatport is without a doubt the prime source for downloading DJ music on the Internet.
iTunes allows you to subscribe to podcasts from all over the world at no charge. Beatport also features a regular podcast on iTunes where listeners can hear the latest top tracks in Tech House, Minimal and House music.
Now there is a special feature in the Beatport podcast on iTunes which allows you to directly buy each song from Beatport.com. Maybe it's not that remarkable, but isn't it funny that iTunes redirects you to Beatport.com to buy music online.
Of course, not all DJ material is available in the iTunes Store, and Beatport has no annyoing digital rights management like iTunes. But still, I am asking myself if this is just under the radar of control freak giant Apple, or if Beatport might actually pay Apple for the traffic they get from iTunes.
